Three rake shims, the three angles of your choice, €35 instead of €42 with free pickup point delivery. It's the easiest way to find your setting: take all three to the water, swap between sessions, keep the one that works.
Choose your combination
Five angles available (0.8° · 1.0° · 1.2° · 1.5° · 2.0°), and every combination of three is possible. If you're unsure:
- 1.0° · 1.2° · 1.5° — all-round, the trio that suits the vast majority of wing foilers.
- 1.2° · 1.5° · 2.0° — light wind, downwind and pump foil, to take off earlier.
- 0.8° · 1.0° · 1.2° — speed and long glides, when take-off isn't the problem.
What a rake shim is for
The shim fits between your foil baseplate and your board's track box. It changes the angle of attack of the whole foil, and therefore the board's trim, without touching the wing or the stabiliser. If your board pitches up, refuses to take off, or if you've already changed stabiliser without results: this is where to look.
PETG, not PLA
The PLA of everyday 3D printing softens around 55-60 °C. A black board in the sun goes beyond those temperatures. Our shims are printed in PETG, UV and salt water resistant, which keeps its geometry season after season. Designed and made in France, printed to order.
Fitting
Five minutes: loosen the baseplate, slide the shim in, retighten in a cross pattern. Check the length of your screws before your first session.
Compatible with AFS, Takoon, Takoon Carbon, Sabfoil Carbon and Duotone D/Lab. Suited to wing foil, surf foil, pump foil and dockstart.
