Rake shims

All our foil rake shims, designed and made in France.

A rake shim (also called an angle shim or wedge) sits between your foil baseplate and your board's track box. It changes the angle of attack of the whole foil and lets you correct your board's trim without changing wing, stabiliser or fuselage. It is the cheapest and fastest adjustment to unlock a setup that won't take off, or to calm a board that pitches up too much.

Why our shims are made of PETG

Almost all 3D-printed shims on the market are made of PLA. This material softens from 55-60 °C: in a car boot in summer or on a board deck in the sun, it creeps under the screw pressure and loses the angle it was designed for.

We print all our shims in PETG: resistant to salt water, UV-stable, rigid over time. Minimum thickness of 15 mm for real mechanical strength under the baseplate.

Five angles available

Every model comes in 0.8°, 1.0°, 1.2°, 1.5° and 2.0°. Angles from 1.2° to 1.5° cover most wing foil needs. If you're torn between two values, take the smaller one: too strong a correction is felt immediately at high speed.

Compatibility

We make a specific geometry for each baseplate brand: AFS, Takoon, Takoon Carbon, Sabfoil Carbon and Duotone D/Lab. Your baseplate isn't listed? Write to us, we are looking at new compatibilities.

Before you order

A 15 mm shim requires longer baseplate screws than the original ones. Allow at least 15 mm extra and check the thread depth available in your track box. Tighten progressively, in a cross pattern, without over-torquing.
