Precise trim tuning for your Duotone D/Lab foil, in a material built to last.

The D/Lab is a foil built for performance, and a high-performance foil is tuned in the details. This rake shim fits between the baseplate and your board's track box to change the angle of attack of the whole foil. The result: you correct a board that dives or stays too nose-up, without dismounting your wings or changing stabiliser.

PETG rather than PLA: a deliberate choice

Cheap shims are usually printed in PLA. PLA deforms above 55-60 °C, a temperature a black board deck easily reaches in midsummer. A deformed shim means an angle that is no longer the one stated, and screws that loosen.

We print in PETG: unaffected by salt water, UV-stable, it keeps its stiffness and dimensions over time. The minimum thickness of 15 mm provides a solid mechanical seat under the baseplate.

Which angle for your D/Lab?

If your board tends to nose-dive or stay stuck to the water on take-off, go for 1.2° or 1.5°: the shim lifts the nose and gets you up earlier. If on the other hand you find the board too nose-up at high speed, a 0.8° to 1.0° correction is usually enough. 2.0° is for strong corrections, on very high-lift setups.

Frequently asked questions

Are my original screws long enough?
Not in most cases. Plan for screws longer by the shim thickness, i.e. at least 15 mm more.

Does it change my stabiliser setting?
No. The shim acts on the board/foil angle, not on the stabiliser/fuselage angle. The two settings are independent and can be combined.

Can I use it on a baseplate other than the D/Lab?
This model is designed for the D/Lab. See below for other brands.
